Project Highlights:
- BHP advised that the new roof for Leinster tank does not fit at the top of the tank as the tank’s circumference does not align with newly fabricated roof. BHP requested AP to carry out modifications work to install the new roof within a tight schedule of 4 weeks.
- BHP advised that the installation of roof on site need to be completed before 30th June 2022, AP site crew completed all the works and signed off the final ITP on 21st June 2022 well ahead of the schedule thus reducing cost and time.
- Manufacturing Documentation (MDR) in compliance to BHP standards and specification
Project Description:
BHP required modification to the Leinster Town Tank to enable the installation of the roof.
Project Deliverables:
1 Offsite Fabrication of Plates and Structural Components
Fabrication of Edge Plates, Channels, Back plates and rolling of plates in compliance with AS1554.1 and BHP NiW SES105 standards.
2 Site Fabrication and Installation
Access Petrotec was responsible for the below activities as part of the site installation works:
- Cut Lip of the existing wind girder and prepare the edges
- Installation and welding of edge plates
- Installation of Channel Support
- Installation of Gusset Plates
- Magnetic Particle Test (NDT) and Surface Treatment
